For the longest of time, donors, international community and government have been consistently making efforts to promote and fund agriculture, particularly Smallholder farmers. However, these efforts are not bearing any fruits or are in vain as none of the beneficiaries are able to sustain the projects post the exit of the sponsors, either their projects collapse and become stagnant or remain for subsistence. It is insurmountable for beneficiaries to commercialise their operations and end up exporting their produce.
The main reason why farmers find difficulty in commercialising, sustaining and managing projects is that they lack skills, so to bridge that gap, Agribusiness Network Lesotho introduced farmers’ incubation, monitoring and mentoring which is meant to equip farmers with relevant skills of farm management.
